Hackathon Starts TOMORROW: Teams & Office Hours
Hello BLM Hackathees,
Tomorrow the first GLOBAL Black Lives Matter Hackathon begins!
If you haven’t been placed into the team (size 1-5), join our discord server and post an introduction, your potential project idea, and your skillset on the #team-search channel and we will make sure to coordinate efforts to place you on a team by tonight..
Caitie Sullivan, Program Manager at SAP (caitie.sullivan@sap.com), and Joseph Ham, Operations & Experience Lead at SAP’s Silicon Valley Next Talent Program (SVNT) (joseph.ham@sap.com) are providing Presentation Consultations to coach with pitching+presenting your product, so teams make sure to email them to schedule a date for a consultation. Although we require a 5 minute product demo video for your team (Devpost submission), we encourage the video to be longer and for you to have a pitch of your project as well. Caititie and Joseph are most interested in getting consultations with teams July 27th – July 31st, (Submission Deadline is Sunday, August 2nd 11:59pm est) so make sure to email them to set up a time.
Moreover, an eligible competitor and recent graduate (who graduated no earlier than June 2020). Will be given a referral for an interview for the January, June, and September 2021 Silicon Valley Next Talent Program Cohort with an upcoming info session via Zoom on August 14th 8-9AM EST (official invitation here).
Moreover, Nathan Woodson, a Senior Manager + Software Architect at CapTech Ventures is providing technical office hours on July 21, 2-3pm and July 30 from 2-3pm with the WebEx link to be provided on the discord server under #tech-support.
Additionally we are in contact with Amazon Web Services about providing more volunteers for technical + pitching support. Please ask questions as we are here to help and want this to be a programming and cultural learning experience!
Make sure to stay active on the discord bouncing off ideas, technologies, etc. and be proactive about DMing potential teammates!
From,
The Minority Programmers Team
